If you are not familiar with Poker play in Florida, the maximum single bet in ring games allowed has raised from the Previous $2 Limit effective July 1, 2007. The various rooms in Florida generally offer games in Hold‘em, Stud, and Omaha with $100 maximum buy-in. If you want to play higher limits, you will either have to go on-line or out 3 miles, on a gambling boat, the State $200 maximum limit does not apply and $4-8 and $10-20 ring games can be found on boats and games as high as $300-$600 can be found on the on-line cardrooms.

OK i went to the hardrock, two of them in one weekend

Road Trip with two buddies
I'll do the strip club review another day but regarding poker... and we did legimately get in a round of golf (eventually) but poker and topless women were the primary agenda
Left Naples around 8am and ended up at Tampa Seminole Hard Rock right near bush gardens off of I-4 and 75, pretty dam easy to get to.
Two of Us Play poker, me and Doug, we show up at tampa hardrock around noonish with a full belly from dennys and about 4 beers each, Stevey plays shit cards and decided to screw around at the strip clubs while we played so we got dropped off at the door.  3 hours later on the $2 tables I was down $40 and 4 beers, Doug up $100.  In general the play was loose, and frankly unless you fold preflop you're going to be pot committed to the river when you consider what crazy odds you get in a $2 game with 7 players calling.   Win one or two monsters and you can cruise the night, two players at table were very serious and i had fun trying to get under their skin  <<< half sucessful.
IN general, i give Tampa an A- and I hate the limits, but its not thier fault.  Could improve a little on size, there were quite a few on wait list but dealers were friendly and generally effecient.  Poker room staff was polite although its not vegas..
hit clubs that evening ( wow !!!! tampa !!!! mons venus !!!!!!!) whats poker ?
next morning, golf shot 92 not bad  then off to other coast that evening to hollywood hard rock, nice pol, very nice pool, honies all arund, no complaints. Poker that evening,,, didn't do a tourney but had moderate sucess at tables, i paid for the beer at least.  Tables need a little work, they were well worn and dirty, seems like they could afford to re-felt them more often.
More open at hollywood than at tampa hard rock kind of right in the middle, not tucked away as much.  Give hollywood a B, only because they sholld invest in re felting tables much more often its a very cheap expense, i know.
nice site, will be back

The Limits are up now

I know your post was outdated but the limits are now $1 $2 and $2 $5 with $5 fixed also.  I cant remember if its $10 on the turn and river so it might be $5 all the way through.  I have been to Three Hard Rock Casinos in Florida.  On the east coast of Florida There is one in Miami Dade county off of I95 and the other one is in Hollywood Florida, both are very nice.  On the West Coast in Tampa there is another Hard Rock that is terrific with a large poker area and lots of slots.  So If you want poker in Florida I would probably start with the Three Hard Rocks.
