If you are not
familiar with Poker play in Florida, the
maximum single bet in ring games allowed
has raised from the Previous $2 Limit
effective July 1, 2007. The various rooms
in Florida generally offer games in
Hold‘em, Stud, and Omaha with $100
maximum buy-in. If you want to play
higher limits, you will either have to go
on-line or out 3 miles, on a gambling
boat, the State $200 maximum limit does
not apply and $4-8 and $10-20 ring games
can be found on boats and games as high as
$300-$600 can be found on the on-line
cardrooms.

I've Been playing the midnight madness tournaments over on full tilt, they are only $10+1 and get a ton of players. The only concern I have is that I think it will take till 5am to win the darn thing and I can't stay up that late. My Best finish was 60th about 4 weeks ago and it was 3:15 Am I think when I went out. I pushed hard with 99 and lost to Caller with AJ, quite honestly I think I was too tired to play later either way. Perhaps I should be looking at whats available at 11pm lol Good Luck everyone

I Play in Hollywood but I have been to both of the Casinos over there, in my opinion the Hard Rock Casino's on the East Coast of Florida offer a nicer atmosphere but once you sit down at the table it doesn't matter anyway. As long as the dealer knows what the hell he's doing i'm happy. I'm 90% sure they offered No Limit Holdem, Limit Holdem, Stud and Omaha. I played at the Bonita Dog Track once since the New legislation came through and the one thing I liked is being able to do simulcast betting on the Horses while I played poker, It was a bit distracting but enjoyable for me. I did the same thing in Dania at the JaliAli and would put two bucks down on every new game coming up but it was a nice distraction. I think both casinos over there offer the exact same limits but you might want to call regarding a current tournament schedule, I know they were nice enough to fax me one when I did call back in the Fall. If your in Naples I think the logical Choice is the Dog Track, especially if your not traveling alone, your spouse/friend can hand out in the clubhouse and make some bets while you play, its a good deal. Hope this helps John

I know your post was outdated but the limits are now $1 $2 and $2 $5 with $5 fixed also. I cant remember if its $10 on the turn and river so it might be $5 all the way through. I have been to Three Hard Rock Casinos in Florida. On the east coast of Florida There is one in Miami Dade county off of I95 and the other one is in Hollywood Florida, both are very nice. On the West Coast in Tampa there is another Hard Rock that is terrific with a large poker area and lots of slots. So If you want poker in Florida I would probably start with the Three Hard Rocks.

I have read too darn many poker books. I agree with your opinion on TJ, but the hands I see him play on TV are such a small % of actual hands its hard to get an opinion that he plays a wide range of hands. But according to his book, he doesn't ! I just finished "Professional No limit Holdem" picked it up at a library book sale for $1.50 , I wasn't familiar with the authors, Matt Flynn and two others but Look for it, its very well done.
